New Nebula Program - Quad Eight DI

I have a new program for you all today. It is the DI input of a Quad Eight custom rack-mounted preamplifier. The transformers in this preamplifier huge so if your signal is lacking some "iron" then this could be the remedy. The preamplifier was sampled with the gain at 100% and the pad in the "in" position.

Here is a shot of the harmonic content:

Mesa 4x12 cab impulses for Nebula

I forgot that a while back I made a couple Nebula programs of a Mesa 4x12 guitar cabinet. The hardware used for these impulses included a Steinberg MR816x for AD/DA, a Crate BV120HB guitar amplifier head (bypassed preamplifier section) with 6L6GC tubes, and an old Mesa 4x12 oversize (I think they call it standard) cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. The lower left speaker was the one that was recorded and I used a Shure SM57 microphone for one program and an Audio-Technica ATM25 microphone for the other program.

This same program can be found on http://nebula-programs.com in the cabs section, it is named King's 4x12 Mesa

I hope to make new impulses with improved micing technique and more microphones soon.

New Nebula program - Aphex Aural Exciter Type B

Today I am posting my first program for Acustica-Audio's Nebula, a sampling of the Aphex Aural Exciter Type B rackmount unit. I received this unit a while back for free from a friend who no longer needed it for his guitar effects rack. The Aural Exciter generates harmonics and adds them to the original signal. The effect I hear is a more pronounced high-end and a greater sense of space or 3-dimensionality around the sound.

I'm still sort of a beginner when it comes to sampling hardware with NAT3 so I have only sampled the hardware unit with the knobs in one position. The "Drive" knobs were set at 12 o'clock, the "Tune" knobs were set at minimum, and the "Mix" knobs where set at maximum.

The software used for sampling was NAT3 1.3.361. The hardware used was a Steinberg MR816x for AD/DA and the Aphex unit.

So download it from the following link and let your ears and mind make their own analysis.

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Simon and I decided to make a blog about DAW plug-ins and tools, such as Acustica-Audio's Nebula plug-in. I hope to be posting new Nebula program files and tips and tricks whenever I get a chance so keep this site bookmarked.
